How much do hearing aids cost?
Hearing aid prices vary greatly based on style, features and local market prices. A programmable digital hearing aid can range from $1,200 to $3,500. While price is an important factor, it shouldn’t be the only one; consider product reliability, warranty and customer service, too.
Why are hearing aids so expensive?
While they may seem expensive, the price of your hearing aids likely includes fittings and adjustments, hearing aid cleanings, a loss-and-damage/replacement warranty and other vital services.
In addition, hearing aids contain state-of-the-art, AI-powered technology, such as noise reduction, feedback cancellation, speech enhancement and tinnitus management features, to help you hear your best.
Will my insurance cover the cost of hearing aids?
While most plans don’t cover the entire cost, some will pay a portion. If your plan has a hearing health benefit, you will need to meet your deductible before your insurance covers any hearing aid costs.
Benke Ear, Nose and Throat is contracted with the following insurance plans for hearing aids:
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- United Healthcare
- PHCS
- Cigna
- Aetna
- Select Medicare replacement plans, such as Humana Medicare Advantage and United Healthcare Medicare Advantage
Medicare and Railroad Medicare do not cover hearing aids.
You can also use funds from your flexible spending account (FSA) or a health savings account (HSA) to cover hearing aid costs.
How do I know if I have a hearing aid benefit through my insurance?
Check with your health insurance about whether your plan has a hearing aid benefit by calling the toll-free number for member services listed on most insurance cards.
What’s a third-party administrator (TPA)?
A TPA acts as a middleman between government insurance programs like Medicare Advantage and the hearing provider to help control costs.
TPAs control the type of hearing product and level of care you receive, which limits your options and may mean paying out-of-pocket costs for crucial services and certain hearing devices.
We do not currently partner with any TPAs.
Do you have financing options?
Yes, we offer CareCredit® and HealthiPlan® Financing to help you pay for hearing aids. Both include interest-free options—contact us for details.
